I've reviewed your stuff in the past. you're still a great pianist, and I still love your style. It's funny that I have not been on NG for maybe 5 or 6 years, and the last time I logged in I reviewed another of your pieces, and today I log in and you are on the front page! Congrats and keep up the good work!

SatoDraygonFist2 responds:

Wait, front page, what? And yeah, I'm "back" after vanishing for a few years. Finally have a MIDI controller! Thanks for the thoughts.

good job

it sounds comlete, but you took out some of the parts that i liked about the other versions. also there is still some human error, but like i said, it at least sounds finished. 5/5

SatoDraygonFist2 responds:

What parts did you like that I've taken out? I am still listening to suggestions and whatnot.

more strings

this is definitely my favorite song from halo 3. you need to use waaaaaay more violins and harmonies in the lower register. Also, the name of this song is "Heroes Also Fall" and its the second part of the "Black Tower" track on the soundtrack. tough to find. I want to see a 2.0 in the works, cause this can definitely be improved, but good job so far.

Dimoria responds:

Well , I chose this name beacause of the feeling I gave the song. I wanted it to sound like you will never forget your hero. But I don't think the song name is called Heroes also fall . Because on my soundtrack cd and on bungie forums with Marty Odonnel it is called Never forget. Still , glad you like it. But I will not remake this one.
Cheers.

diggin it

the soft part was a good lead in, but i kinda wish it had gotten to the "extreme" part faster. i have to agree with gravey, cause to me it sounded like some old britney spears song, with no vocal part. definitely a decent submission though, very catchy. you get a four/five

syphonmax responds:

Thanks man =D

:D is right

FUCKING EPIIIIIIC!!! i love it baby. keep this up, and make a longer one. your beats are dark, and your harmony is flawless.

mr-vincent responds:

Yeah, I juste started the song
i will last 5:00 minimum ^^

I like the bells at times. also the quarter note progression near the end was very interesting, but i couldnt tell when the melody started and when it repeated itself. the only problem with the bells is the amount of dischord they add. its ok sometimes, but other times its just so off, that it really needs changed. add more elements to it as well. some percussion, other than bells would be useful, and other instruments as well. as far as a melody this could be a kind of creepy song, if done right. you could be on the right track. version 2.0 in the future?

scraggly521 responds:

thanks for the tips and yes there will be a 2.0 this is just a demo just needed some opinions.

diggin IT!

you get a five out of five, but a few more change ups rather than additions and subtractions would be well advised. the second party, the funky bass part was pretty cool, and a welcome change from the first part. creative, but after a while quite frankly got tired of it. keep making stuff!

FuNDaMeLoN responds:

Woo, thanks man!
About that bass part...
I think im gona edit it some more, maybe cut out a portion of it or add another track to spice it up a bit, or something.
The additions and subtractions make the overall song more funky, but you're right that there's a bit too much of them and it makes the song sound crappy after a while...
Thanks again :D:D

pretty decent.

4/5 for the repetitiveness, also, some very sweet melodies in there. also, there is a little dischord hiccup at :55. look into it. overall decent.

Biosect responds:

thx for the review

beautiful

being a musician, i think this song's supposed simplicity is the heart of it's beauty. The ringing of the notes with the background reverb was amazing. however, in regards to the hiccup at :21, to me it sounded percussive, and when i heard it i wanted to hear more. If possible, I would add a very light snare drum part for parts of the song. maybe add some very deep bass drum, and a very small boys voice or womans voice singing the lyrics to your hymn. other than that, just fix the tiny mess-ups in the 1:23-1:27 area, and this song is good to go. nine out of ten from me!

SatoDraygonFist2 responds:

Wow! Thanks for your reviews! I'll certainly look into it. They are all fantastic ideas, but the fact remains that I just don't have the resources to upload another fantastic recording. I mean, I'm trying hard and tripping over myself to get it done....we'll see what happens.

And the snare part/singing...we'll see. I don't want to overload the song. But thanks for the suggestions! They mean a lot!

first login

this is my first login in about a year...just to review this song. i lurk around in the audio portal looking for anything interesting, and i stumble upon this. being a musician myself, i really really appreciate your voice, and dont want to dictate anything about your music, but if you added a simple drum part, it could be so much closer to "radio ready". but as it is, I love it. where I live there are no talented musicians to play with, and I wish to play with someone as talented as yourself.

hania responds:

Hey! Thanks for the review and Welcome Back to the Login world of NG ;)

I totally agree with you regarding the drum part - it would certainly make the song more "radio ready" . Do you know anyone with a kit? :)

I'm glad that you like the piece without the drums too though - simplistic piano/vocal songs are always fun to make.
